BOTOX
Botox is a medication that is FDA-approved to temporarily make moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines look better in adults. Botox, or onabotulinum toxin A, was approved for cosmetic uses 20 years ago. As one of the first cosmetic injectables, Botox has a track record of proven results. Botox is perfect for treating “dynamic” lines and wrinkles, meaning lines that appear as you move your muscles. If the lines are set and they are at rest, consistent Botox over time will decrease the appearance of the line but you will likely need additional treatments to replace volume (filler) or grow collagen (laser, smooth threads and microneedling) in order to treat that line completely. We recommend having a consult starting in your late 20’s to see if preventative Botox is right for you.

The effects of Botox will set in between 3-14 days after your treatment and last 3-4 months.
Bruising from Botox injections is unlikely, anytime we break the barrier of the skin it is possible. Small red areas are noted after treatment and will disappear within 20 minutes of your injections. After your treatment, we recommend that you keep the area clean, do not press on the area, and do not lay down or exercise for 6 hours. You may return to your regular activity the following day.
